Services may have resumed in churches, but for some of us, coming to church is not an option. Prayer in the Home is what we are calling our Sunday worship for when we are unable to worship together at St Barnabas. The various resources that are put together week by week will be collected here in order to provide easy access to everything we do and anything you like.

In one form or another, our great team of Sunday group leaders will prepare regular material - a combination of videos and worksheets - for children and young people from Bubbles, X-stream and the Grid.

DAILY PRAYERS

If you can’t get to church for daily prayer in the week [Mon-Thurs 12.00-13.00pm] but want a simple rhythm of daily prayer, then you can say morning or evening prayer via the Lectionary app or the Daily Reflections app.

CAFE CHURCH

Similar to our family services, Cafe Church offers a mixture of craft, bible stories and discussions aimed at families with primary and early secondary school children, using zoom. Please email us for Zoom details. Led by Sam, Sunday 4-5.15pm.

YOUTH

Now we’ve all heard of Zoom, Sam Benjamin, our Children and Youth Minister, is planning on ways to get the young people together remotely for friendship, fun and prayer.

MUSICAL MEDITATION

Sarah Hughes, our Director of Music, will be writing a weekly reflection called SUSPENSION on some apt music from the church’s repertoire, old and new, helping us to understand how it works and why we probably like it.

RULE OF LIFE

Having adopted a Rule of Life for Lent and thought about it in our recent sermons, now is a great time to double down with it and think deeply about what living with generosity and integrity looks like in a world disrupted by COVID 19. Knowing that others are praying it, too, reminds us that we can still live as a community even when we are apart.

EASTER DAY

Each week we will produce a simple form of prayer to use in the home, including music, intercessions and a choice of sermons: listen to Rev Ann Brodie or watch Rev Richard Taylor (All-Age). Everything we put together for Sunday worship will be collated on our Prayer in the Home page.

ASCENSION DAY

The main West window of the Ascension isn't original to the church; it was the gift of a Mary Ann Philpott in memory of her father in 1904. It is best appreciated at about 4pm on a sunny day - which is when this reflection for Ascension Day was filmed: https://bit.ly/3bU4b9w

31 MAY PENTECOST SUNDAY Prayer in the home

Catch up with our 25 minute video which formed the basis of our worship time together on Zoom on Pentecost Sunday. Including many familiar faces leading us in the reading and prayers, it was also a chance to get the house band back together again as Rev Richard Taylor told the story of God’s Music for the World.
